Melo and Amare Out- Lin Takes Over

http://www.nba.com/search/?text=jeremy+lin
New York Knicks fans know they depend on their stars Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudamire to be productive night in and night out. However ankle problems for Carmelo and family issues for Amare are keeping them off the court and allowing young stars like Jeremy Lin to come out and show what they have to add to the New York Knicks. Jeremy Lin graduated from Harvard University and was picked up by the Golden State Warriors. After being released Lin, was added to Knicks roster and since has suceeded. In his past 4 games he has scored more than 20 points and in the last game at the Garden against the Los Angeles Lakers, Lin lead his team with a career high 38 points and defeated the Lakers 92 to 85.
Watching Lin play is exciting he is small, fast, and versatile. He is great with both hands and is a great pick and roll player. His patience driving through the lane is what I see as one his best strengths. I feel Lin is a great pick up for the New York Knicks seeing how they lost Chauncy Billups to the Los Angeles Clippers and the fact that Baron Davis and Mike Bibby are not playing to their potential. I can see Lin becoming an all star point guard if he keeps his great work ethic and a determined attitude.

Kobe will beat Jordan in the Ring Race

SportsCenter Trade Discussion

When arrived to my apartment today from school I turned my television on and as always it is on ESPN. I am a die-hard Los Angeles Lakers fan and have been since Kobe Bryant entered the league in 1997. The shocking news I found today was that Mitch Kupchak the Lakers General Manager has decided to put the entire team on the trade block besides Kobe Bryant. Kobe has three years and 83 million dollars remaining on his contract. Kupchak's ideal plan is to acquire both Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic and Chris Paul from the New Orleans Hornets. Addiding the most dominant center in the NBA and the best defensive player in the league will help protect the paint for the Lakers. The addition of Chris Paul will be a threatening facilitator that is able to make everyone on the court around him better. Having three superstars on the same team will open room for Kobe and his mid range jump shot. Their ability to spread the floor will be their strength and teams will not be able to match up to these all stars. As the NBA buzz continues you cannot count the New York Knicks out of the race for both Paul and Howard. The Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks may have some more competition from the West this year.

Violence is Unecessary in Sport

Please review the link below for a great example from the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers violent melee in 2006.

Today in class we held a 4 on 4 debate on weather violence is or is not necessary in sport. My group presented that violence is uncessary in sport.
Our main points we build off of included violence in sports projects a negative image to our society, violence in sports is unecessary because of the brutal body contact that often leads to life threatening injuries, that violence is unecessary in sports because of the effects on different cultures globally, and violence is

Saints rally past GMEN on Monday Night

Wow, the New York Giants three weeks ago were atop the NFC North with a 5-3 record and looked sharp after defeating the Miami Dolphins in a close game. Although Eli has been posting breakthrough numbers for his career, the New York Giants are now on a three game losing streak and will be hosting the undefeated Green Bay Packers this upcoming Sunday. Drew Brees heroics from the New Orleans Saints was the main element in leading them to the much needed victory. This win puts the Saints one game above the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South.Brees threw for 363 yards and four touchdowns this is in addition to his touchdown scramble. This followed an imitation of the iconic Michael Jordan logo- legs spread football finger rolled over the goalpost. Brees has been impressive this season and has been consistent since joining the Saints. Rookie running back Mark Ingram and veteran Pierre Thomas each rushed for a touchdown; the Saints offense thrived on Monday night. The loss of Osi Umenyoria early in the 1st half really affected the Giants pass rush and provided Brees more time to be in the pocket. The link below is the:

Moore Stepping Up

The Miami Dolphins are currently on a three game winning streak after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins and the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins have outscored these three opponents 86 to 20 and have won by an average of 22 points, which is very impressive compared to their average 8.4 points scored per game during their 0-7 start. If Miami were able to win at least 3 of their first seven games they would be a top the AFC East Race for the playoffs. Miami still needs to face each division opponent once this season and their are still six games remaining in the regular season. I cannot see Miami being a playoff team but that would be quite the achievement by them. I am happy to see the Dolphins turn it around, I do not want to see Tony Sparano being fired; I feel he is a great coach and understands what needs to be done in preparation to defeat his opponenets. The way he handles post game press conferences is impressive, he understands how too talk to the media and what does and does not have to be presented to them. The Dolphins will be traveling to Dallas to play against the Cowboys in their billion dollar stadium on Thanksgiving day at 4:15 on CBS. Winning Streak Link

Sandusky Interview with CBS Sports

While falling asleep last night, I was lucky to catch a CBS Special on ESPN that featured a phone interview with Jerry Sandusky, the alleged petefile and former defensive coordinator for the Pennsylvania State University Football Team.

The most shocking statement made by Sandusky was I am not a petefile, I just enjoy being with young children, they make me happy.

This is disgusting, I won't be able to change my thoughts about Sandusky even if he is accused not guilty. He claimed the statements made by a Graduate Assistant in 2002, were false, the Graduate Assistant witnessed a boy in the shower facilities at Penn State University and said he could here smacking.

Sandusky addmitted to being in the shower with the boy however he claimed they were whipping at towels at each other and that he has never had any sexual contact with another boy.

Daltion shows quality Leadership and Winning Mentality

Andy Dalton is currently the starting quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals and with his performance this year he will not be losing this position. Dalton was drafted in the second round by the Bengals in the 2011 NFL Draft. His college career lasted four years at TCU, their he was able to break various records set by previous quarterbacks at TCU. Dalton has been able to lead the Bengals to a 6-2 record mid way through the season and they are a top the AFC North Division. This weekend Dalton will be tested against the furious and mean Pittsburgh Steelers Defense that is well known for the pass rush abilities. Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu I can imagine is studying day and night on Dalton's reads and I hope to see Dalton succeed. This season Dalton has a 61.5% completion percentage, 1,696 yards passing, 12 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. At age 24 the rookie quarterback out of TCU is showing he has the ability to lead a struggling organization into steps towards the playoffs. I hope to see the Cincinnati Bengals succeed this season rather than having the Pittsburgh Steelers or Baltimore Ravens be atop the division.
