The Changing AFC EAST

This season has been much different than expected of most fans and NFL analysts. The most suprising in the division is the Buffalo Bills; they're starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been excelling and providing a big spark for the Bills Offense. Fred Jackson the teams starting running back has been able to provide several 100 yard rushing performances and all star wide receiver Stevie Johnson has had 6 catches in seven games. The New England Patriots have not been playing their best game this season and Head Coach Bill Belichek knows they are being looked at by the league as not perorming to their abilities. Starting quarterback, Tom Brady has been able to lead the offense to victories with 2 minute drill touchdowns however the defense has not been able to hold their weight even with the addition of pro bowl defensive tackle, Albert Haynesworth.

The New York Jets are currentyl third in the division and Head Coach Rex Ryan still has high expectations for his team. Starting quarterback Mark Sanchez has performed well this season however the Jets have the majority of their loses in close games. The Miami Dolphins are fourth in the division at 0-7, their Head Coach Tony Sparano is under a lot of heat and still believes in his organization and players. I am a Miami Dolphins fan I am upset with their performance this season but i feel Tony is the right coach for us and we will be able to put a strong team together once we aquire a few more additions. The standings are tight between the Bills, Patriots, and Jets however you can count the Dolphins out of the playoff race for this season

How Sport can translate into Violence

Referee shot dead during Brazilian football match - Sambafoot.com, all About Brazilian Football

I found this article will browsing a referee support system. When I read the title I was shocked. The referee was shot during a Brazilian Futbol Championship game. I would not be suprised if the police learn that the referee was shot because he was involved in some kind of gambling or unfair officiating that was under control by a minority group. The man that shot him is still on the loose and he also shot another man in the leg during the incident. The security in Brazil must not be that strong or emphasized if a referee was able to be shot dead and the man was able to run from the situation. Fan safety is imperial in facilities and if you cannot guarentee safety to your spectators it will be difficult to keep filling up the stands each game.

I enjoyed this article and I will blog more about it if I find anything new!

Philly isn't Flying as Expected

Going into the 2011-2012 season in the NFL the expectations of fans, coaches, and NFL analysists was that the Philadelphia Eagles would not run into much trouble making it to the Super Bowl. I myself predicted an all Pennsyvania Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles facing off the Pittsburgh Steelers. However right now the Eagles are 1-3 and tied for last in their division while the Steelers are 2-2 and at the bottom of their division.

The Philadelphia Eagles were held to high expectations this ytear because of their off season free agency work in the marketplace. The Eagles picked up at total of nine superstar potential athletes from around the league. Some of these include but are not limited to Ronnie Brown, Namdi Asomougha, and Vince Young. These are three super star athletes that can make a big affect on how the team excels, however none of which have much playoff experience.

The team is under the leadership of Michael Vick who is currently on one of the highest paid salaries amongst all NFL quarterbacks. His athleticism, skill, and love for the game of football will help him get through the struggles his team is currently facing. Although Vick received a minor concussion in week 2 he is still fighting to help his team and play game in and game out.

Personally I would like to see the Eagles not make the playoffs and have a team like the Detroit Lions or Buffalo Bills make a run to shock their cities and fan bases and build a stronger marketplace in those cities.

The Pittsburgh Steelers look sluggish to say the least this past Sunday against the Houston Texans and their Offense was far from productive. Big Ben needs to bring the team back into their play making strategies and spice up the Offense before they begin to fall under the .500 mark.
